The Calvert Animal Welfare League is an all-volunteer non-profit. Their mission is to serve the pets and people of Calvert County by operating a state-of-the-art animal adoption and education center. Their goal is to provide a friendly, caring environment to promote the adoption of unwanted, homeless animals and to be able to support these animals until they are adopted. Their vision is to develop resources that allows them to offer educational programs that clearly define responsible pet care and respect for all animals.

They help curb cat overpopulation at its source by providing a humane alternative to euthanasia. They work alongside other rescue groups, Animal Control and the Linda Kelley Animal Shelter in the shared goal to make Calvert County a place where healthy stray cats are given a better future.
